Well..

Well that experiment didn't last very long in December, now did it?

Here was the problem when I tried out this exercise program: The holidays came.
Can't much expect myself to bring my weights and videos to both my folks' houses. Exercise is a foreign thing where I grew up. Also....so much great food around. How could I resist?

That's all it took was a week away from the program to lose all motivation for a full 6 months. Now that a lot of stress at work is over, maybe I'll give it a go once again.

Even three weeks of P90x was enough to make me stronger than I've ever been in my life.
What do you think...Saturday start it up again???

Maybe...

Day 9 - Shoulders + Arms

Finished Shoulders & Arms tonight + ARX.
Followed it up with 16 oz of whey protein powder mixed with water. (w/milk is good, too)

I feel OK. Tired. Need to get more sleep or something. Veggies have been lacking for me. Juicer?

Some things I learned about protein powder:
1) At GNC, you can get this bottle thing with a spiral ball that sits inside. This is for shaking it up and basically whisks it into a smooth drink and froths it up a bit -- much more palatable like a shake.
2) Protein is what is re-building the torn muscle tissue back up. That and sleep! So don't skip out on a recovery drink.
3) I got one brand of protein powder and realized it had 65 grams of cholesterol per serving. I think that is too much, and ended up getting another brand with only 20g of cholesterol instead. (GNC, ~$18-20)
4) Try "Muscle Milk" some time - stuff is actually really good, but expensive. I have a few sitting around just to change it up every once in a while.

I do my workouts at night. I over-did my day 1 pull-ups without a chair. I did about 1 or 2 and KILLED my pecs/chest. Could barely do any pushups after that and was sore for days after. Don't kill yourself - _push_ yourselves!!

Anyone else already starting to feel a change in their body?
Anyone else feel like they spent a ton of money so far on food/weights? -- It will pay for itself when we're done, I think emoticon

Day 3

Still very sore today from Day 1 (was chest & back). Hurts to even wash my armpits. Triceps also sore. Dreading popping in the next DVDs (arms + shoulders, and then Ab Ripper X) because I don't know if my chest will explode.

Am thinking about starting real soon.. but "Intervention" is on at 9 pm :)

Today I spent about $130 more on the program. Two 50 lb. weights (for back), a tub of Whey Protein Complex (GNC), and a drink shaker bottle.

For food I had a Clif protein bar, grillen chicken salad w/no dressing (Burger King), and a chicken parm patty with caesar salad [little bit of dressing] (Sbarro).

Here I go...

All done with Arms & Shoulders followed by Ab Ripper X. Ab ripper kicked my ass, had to press Pause a lot of times. Had my first protein shake - kind of gross, but necessary, I know. I should have bought 10 pound weights instead of 50 - the 50's were for lifting with the delts, but I'd rather do 10 lb. tricep work.
